Pi kills for the first time while on the lifeboat (chapter 61). Describe an experience involving the death of a living being (insect, plant, animal, etc.). What kind of feelings went through your mind?
When I witnessed the death of a goat it was horrible. I wanted to make them stop because it was crying in pain and it was hung upside down. It cried and yelled for a good while too before it finally died. I was panicking and a bit scared. I felt sick in my stomach and I was angry that they could do that.
Well I've been involved with many a death of plants, but I don't think that really has the psychological impact that killing an animal has. I can't really recall an experience of any sort of animal being killed. Well actually I guess that's not true.
I live with cats, and I've lived with cats pretty much my whole life. Every once in a while one of the cats brings in a dead bird or mouse, which is always sad and unpleasant. One time I was in my room and a mouse rand across the floor. It was not killed. I've also seen one of my cats eat a beetle. That was not nice.
I wouldn't feel anything that is your food to survive so therefore I would just kill it no feelings involved. You need it so you shouldn't feel anything without the fish you are going to die.
I was 6 years old. I was in Ethiopia for my uncles wedding. One of the traditions in a Ethiopian wedding is to kill a goat. I was walking down the isle holding a candle in my hand (because I was a candle girl). They brought out the goat and had a HUGE knife. First they choked the goat then they stabbed it and started to cut parts off of the goat. When I saw that I was horrified and burned my finger then I dropped the candle then it started a fire. The fire was put out. That was the most feared moment when I was in Ethiopia.
When I saw a living animal die was when my uncle killed a fish to serve to them for dinner. Most of the time I usually kill spiders and insects because I hate spiders.I felt yucky.
During the summer time when I'm outside at night and mosquitoes try to bite me. But while they are in the process of bitting me on my arms or any part of my body I hurry up and try to hit it. Yeah, it's pretty gross!
Well, I'm deathly afraid of spiders so whenever they're inside I ask someone else to kill it. Otherwise I'll either kill it or try to pick it up (but only if it's a daddy long legs) and set it outside. I don't like to kill spiders, and I don't like to be near them. The reason I don't want to kill them myself is because I don't like to kill things because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. I remember that there was a huge black spider in my that was really fast. I named her mama short legs, I think she lived under my mattress. I was never able to catch it so I was always afraid she would crawl into my mouth when I was sleeping. I stopped seeing her after a while so maybe she died or moved into the vent.
- When i kill spiders i find some thick paper and smash it till i know it dead. then i cant pick it up . It's freaks me out . so when i kill a spider i don't clean it up . i ask other people to do .
Its a scary thought, I watched people jump for the twin towers in new york and watch as their bodies went splat. Its an image that will never leave my brain. It will effect you it some way.
One time during the summer... I think it was a year or two ago.... I saw a bird laying right next to out pond. I went over to inspect it, it was white. One eye was missing, and there was a huge cut from the joint of it's wing down to it's back. It was covered in maggots and it looked miserable. It was still alive. My mom told me to drown it. So we filled a pail of water and... Well we drowned the sucker. It died and I think it was for the better, because otherwise it'd be eaten alive by maggots and flies.
In 5th our class had to fish. One was blue and it name was Jaws. The other one was red and named Killer. One day we had to clean the fish bowls so we put them in the same bowl. When we went back to put the fish in the original bowls Jaws was killed by Killer. -Chumani Wayd
During the summer my cat always kills mice. Then, leaves them by my patio door for me to pick up. It's really gross because sometimes they'll be missing body parts!
I went fishing one day and we caught a fish when we went back to my house I put gasoline on it and set it on fire and watched it burn. I felt bad that the fish was burning alive so I just left and my continued to watch it.
during the summer time when I have to kill a spider. it was so huge. So I have to go and get a shoe but it was moving to much. Then I finally got it when it got on the floor. I was kinda happy that I killed the spider because all my sister was too scared to kill it
I've killed a couple of bugs, but I didn't really feel anything after. When I was a boy scout, I went on a hike where I unknowingly stepped on a garden snake and killed it. I didn't feel anything after that either. I just kept walking.
One time there was a this big huge BEE in my room. I grabbed a hat and kept smacking it til it couldn't fly anymore. Then I grabbed a shoe and banged it really hard. Finally I grabbed a tissue and cleaned it up and threw it away. The feeling when I killed it felt really good.
My uncle Steve lives all the way in Annindale, and he had a major bird problem. There was poop and feathers every were. Long story short, he need me and my cousin to get ride of the problem. So my cousin Mac shot one of the birds with his bee bee gun. The bird fell out the nest and started squirming around so we covered it up with a bucket. So later I was the one to get a shovel and I executed the bird. I wasn't happy about it, but I did it
I was walking down a street and there was a ice cream cone on the ground. Surrounding it there was a bunch of ants and i just started trying to crush all of them but there was too many and some got away
I have a pitbull and a while ago I lived in this neighborhood where it was like woods behind my house. During the summer my dog would be outside all the time! during the month of June my dog use to try to eat these bugs called June bugs they are so nasty and make this crazy buzzing noise and my dog use to eat them and they use to have this shell so when he ate them they were all crunchy! it was nast!
One summer night I was out on my front porch with my mom, when we heard this sound. It was a fluttering sound, and then we saw a centipede snap out from the stucco and grab the moth. We were horrified. My dad came out and killed it, and the moth was found with a hole in it. I now am quite scared of centipedes.
When i was younger i used to kick cats and all types of animals. One time i kicked a cat and later that day i was walking down my street and i saw the cat dead in the grass. I didn't feel much emotion afterwards im pretty sure i was the cause of more that one cat deaths.

ReplyDeleteI feel nauseous when I see bugs or anything else get squished. It just looks weird to me and I don't like witnessing it.
