  2. You can read the back. You can read the first few pages. You can read random pages in the book. You can look up online what the book is about. You can read reviews people have made about the book.

  3. -The way that you would preview a novel is by reading the back. The reason I say you should read the back is because the back is a little summary of the whole book.

  6. You can go online and look up summaries about the story or find and read other people's reviews of a book. Their opinion, what was the main plot, comparisons to other books and etc...

I always pick a random spot in the book and read for a little while, If I get into it then I read it. Also never judge a book by its cover. really.

  13. Read the summary on the back or inside the book if it's a hard cover. I see what category it's in...
    - Fiction
    - Non- Fiction
    - Urban

All the other ones too! Sometimes I like to ask people about the book and if they have ever read it. Then, I always read the last page of the book to see if I'll like the ending.

  15. Well you could skim through the book. One way that I preview a book is reading the back of it to see if I would like it. Some people look up the author and see what others thing they have done. You read the prologue if there is one. Those are some ways that you can preview a book.

  20. When I preview a novel, I often read the back cover or a summary, and I read a random paragraph from the middle of the book.

The reason that I read the summary is, so that I have an idea about what I'm reading, so I know what hints too look for.

The reason why I read a paragraph from the middle of the book is so that I know what type of writing style the author has.

  21. You preview a novel by reading the back of the cover, because most likely that usually sums up what the story that your about to read is about. Another way you can preview a novel is by reading the first couple pages before the first chapter actually starts, that sometimes gives you a feel on what the author was feeling, or what the point of the book was, or you could maybe read the last couple of pages to.

  22. To preview a novel I usually just read the text that's on the jacket. I don't usually read books that I have heard nothing about, unless they seem particularly interesting looking. I also sometimes look the book up on the internet to see what it's about and to see what critics said about it.

  23. I read the back of the book before I read it to see if it's interesting at all.

  24. When I preview a book, I usually read the back. Sometimes I'll skim through the book to see what kind of writing the story is written in. I usually read the first few pages also. It isn't always the best thing, but I judge the book a lot based on what I read in the first few pages.
