ReplyDelete1. I notice a skeleton wearing a scarf and a man in a Nazi uniform. I sense fear and death from the picture.

3. I get a depressing or sorrow feeling because of the skeleton and how the Nazi man is presenting it.

It reminds me of a kid that is afraid of the dark..

The feeling that I get is that im shocked, & kind of get a little off balance when I see this picture.

Why is that person all alone? Why does he/she look so scared?

I think the artist wants you to be able to feel what it's like to be in their shoes, like this is how you would feel or look.

I notice there are skinny legs under the car and there are 3 faces of Hitler mushed into one on the front of the car. I can hear the grunts and groans of the people carrying the car. I can smell the car grease and sweat.

Image reminds me of Schindler's list.

I feel sick and angry and want to whip Hitler and cage him.
4. What does the image make you wonder about?
It makes me wonder how people followed Hitler for so long and thought this was ok.
5. What do you think the artist wants you to take away from the image?
It wants me to take that Jewish people where basically the wheels and carried Hitler. They had no choice in it. They were forced to. Without the Jewish people though Hitler wouldn't have gone anywhere.

ReplyDeleteI notice a gate and a fence. There is also a building and a tower. The picture is really gray.

This picture reminds me of Night because it is a picture of Auschwitz.

I get sort of a depressed feeling because it seems really melancholic.
4. What does the image make you wonder about?
It makes me wonder if the person who made it was let out of Auschwitz at this gate or put in to the camp at this gate.

I think they want us to see that it was a dark time.

ReplyDelete1. I notice there is a castle shaped like building blocks. It looks like it's in a pretty desolate area. All of the castle isn't painted though, only some of it.
2. It reminds me of when I used to play with building blocks or my childhood in general.
3. I feel comforted but sad at the same time.
4. It makes me wonder about the author and how he felt about his childhood being taken away by the holocaust.
5. I think he's either trying to communicate that his childhood was incomplete or that you can make anything seem childish.
1. I noticed that the women are naked and they look scared or worried. They also look sad. They seem like they've been hurt, raped and or beat.
ReplyDelete2. When i first started learning about the Rape of Nanjing. It explained in depth about how Chinese women were treated. They were rape multiple times in one day. The Japanese men did not care how old or what size the women were.
3. When i see anything about women getting hurt or women looking scared it makes me kind of sad but also angry because females are sensitive and should be treated with respect and honor.
4. Were these women going through the same thing as the Chinese women? Were these women scared?
5. Everyone goes through something !!

I notice a lot of things: a missile, three men walking on a road, three men looking into the sky, a brown mountain or hill, the missile in a dark room. The men walking are wearing suits, carrying papers, have no faces. The men looking are wearing suits, shielding their eyes somewhat. This image reminds me of the movie reservoir dogs, and the 1970s mostly. I get a feeling like I am watching a movie about government-related things. The missile is obviously a weapon, and it seems the men have facilitated its construction and possibly its use. it reminds me of james bond. It makes me wonder about the story behind the men, both the faceless men and the men looking up. I am wondering what connection they have to the missile. I think the artist wants to show the relationship between weapons of mass destruction, such as large missiles, and the men who run the governments and businesses associated with such technologies. This is especially true with the faceless men; soulless catalysts for destruction and profit.

Things I noticed: They used colors or yellow, orange, and red. I noticed an object in the center. I notice a thing that looks like an opening.
ReplyDeleteImages in reminds me of: IT looks like a fire, with a door, and something that looks like a flower with an wing attached to it.
Feelings: Pain, sorrow, horror, relieved.
Wondering: Why they made it look like a fire, why does it look like there is an opening and what is the object in the middle.
What I take away: I take away that he saw the burning of his people and they are taken to a better place. Or maybe it was that he/she escaped the burning and that is why there is the opening and the thing that looks like a wing.
All these picture represent turmoil, hardship, sadness, and death. They all have a deep meaning showing their suffering.

I get a feeling that hitler is controlling some part of a town.
It makes me wonder how many people were just killed in this town.
I think the artist wants me to think that hitler is very powerful.

1.) When I look at this picture I smell a dank room. I can hear the skitter of rats somewhere in the dark; perhaps the occasional weeping of a human, somewhere off in the distance. It echoes about the room, which sprawls along underground, to make sure no one sees it. I see a pitifully thin figure, sunken eyes, the shadows from his cheekbones make it look as if his face is scarred. He barely fits in his clothes, the rags draping around his frame; which is loosely curled into a ball. I can taste ashes in my mouth.
ReplyDelete2.) It reminds me of what my basement used to look like, it was dark, no lighting, and I always thought there was a man or monster somewhere in the darkness.
3.) I feel sympathy, or pity, or sad, perhaps a mix thereof.

1. I notice a giant Hitler with a halo over his head, he's towering over the buildings pointing and shouting. There are tons of churches with Nazi flags waving on them, and there's some German text underneath the picture, that must have something to do with what's in it.
