  2. I would probably ask him if this is a true story or a work of fiction. It is written as if it is true, but it's also a really fantastic story. I want to believe.

  5. Why did you have to put your opinions in the story and say what happened when you visited him? It was irrelevant and he didn't need to put the italicized stuff in. The story is called Life of PI not Life of Pi and Yann Martel.

  11. I would ask him if the story is a true story, a true story with some fictional elements, or just complete fiction.

  13. I would ask him about the island he came to. I would really like to know more about it. The island itself seems impossible or something from a fantasy novel, which makes it so interesting.

  19. Why is it that in the second part of the book you get over graphic with what he eats? What made you decide for Pi to have three religions? Why did you make some chapters short and others really really long? - Chumani Wayd

  20. If I met him I would ask if everything he wrote about was true. I would also ask him if he ever doubted what Pi was saying when telling the story.

  21. How much research did you have to do before writing the book?

Why did you go to India to write your first book? Was it to get inspired, or to do research for the book?
