What forces you to continue reading in a "good" book?

  1. I always want to find out what is coming up next but then once the book is over, I am sad because it was a good book.

  2. Suspense. If the story is suspenseful that keeps on my toes looking forward to what is going to happen next. Also if the story makes sense. It can't just be random stuff being thrown together that you can't even follow.

  3. My teachers force me to finish a book or else i will get a bad grade when we take tests when we are done reading the book.

  4. Something that forces me to continue reading in a good book is looking forward to the ending, or maybe sometimes it's just so good that I don't want to stop reading it.

  5. The one thing that forces me to continue reading a"good" book is probably the storyline. If I end on a chapter with a cliffhanger, I want to know what happens next so I read the next chapter.

  6. I think books are interesting either when they have a great story or (in the case of non-fiction) if they are just really interesting. Like if I am reading some book about, say, quasars, then I'll keep reading it because quasars are awesome. If the book is written boringly, however, it will bore me. pretty simple. Also, the good story part. Generally, I only read good books, so I have rarely ever put down a book because the story didn't enthrall me, so yeah. But generally I love a good story so I want to see what happens next. like Right now I'm reading Paper Towns by john green and just mentioning it makes me want to read it right now because it's such a good story!!

  8. The story is what usually keeps me reading a book. If the first chapter catches my attention i'll continue (depending on the book). I don't have anything else to say about it. I'm not very fond of fantasy these days, unless it's manga or video games. Something about how it's written bothers me...

  9. I think it's when it's about you, you don't want to to put it down, because it more interesting. There is also the time if the book is about something you wish you could do or be and you don't feel like you want to stop, because you want to see how it ends. The last possibility that I can think of is that it talks about some thing you like, for example sports or animals and things like that.

  10. Usually the story is what keeps me reading. It makes me interested in the characters, so much so that I want to know what happens to them next. So, a good story and characters are what keep me reading.

  11. If the story is interests me, and when I'm Waiting to figure out what happens at the next chapter. If a book is just blank and then something exciting happens at the very end, I find it boring. When something happens every chapter (but not as spectacular as the first scenario), and when it keeps me questioning, then I will keep reading to figure out what is going to happen.

  12. Because I'm curious to know what is coming up next in the book. Or then I will just be guessing what will happen next in the story.

  13. To get into a book the the point where its hard to put down requires something in that I can relate to in some way. Also, I don't necessarily have to agree with the book, but if its written well (interesting words, good story, ect.) I usually will get sucked in anyway.

  17. It has to be interesting for me to read a book.I really don't like reading books so if you see me reading you know it's a good book. but I like to read books about peoples life I don't know why but It's interesting to hear about other peoples life.

  18. What forces me? Well, nothing, I guess if it's a good book it's just a good book.... So I just read it on my own. What compels me to continue reading a good book is probably the plot line and characters. I want to know what happens next! I mean, if I had stopped reading I wouldn't have known if Sir Kerdwin had died, and such a terrible death it was. Or maybe if I had stopped halfway through, I won't figure out what happens in the Deadman's House! Auugh! What happens what happens next!!? That's what makes me keep reading.

  19. -What makes me keep reading a good book is if the first page is good then I will keep going. Now if I get in the middle of the book and then I get bored then I will stop.

    - It has yo keep interested.
    - It can't be boring. (Well ill still read it if I have to for a grade or school.)
    - I like horror so it needs horror.
    - I like mysteries so it needs to have mysteries.

  21. What literally forces me to continue reading a good book is mainly time limit. If we are reading in class, and we have to read it by a certain time, then I will read as much as I can. For me to want to keep reading a book that isn't in class, it would have to interest me. If the book is on a subject that I don't understand or care about then I wouldn't want to force myself to keep reading it. It would basically just have to make me want to keep reading it.
